Grunder Landscaping Co. Fall Field Trips

Spend One-on-One Time with Marty and His Team

September 19–20
October 3–4
October 24–25

Our Fall Field Trips bring you onsite to Grunder Landscaping Co. headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, one of the most successful landscaping companies in the Midwest. You’ll spend a jam-packed day going behind the scenes of the company’s operations, meeting Marty’s management team, and learning directly from them how to lead your staff to exceed client expectations every step of the way. This event is limited to just 14 attendees so we can guarantee you get the one-on-one attention you need.

Seeing Is Believing
We’ll gather at a restaurant for a kickoff dinner the night before so you can get to know your fellow participants and have some fun, too. In the morning we’ll head to Grunder Landscaping, where Marty will lead you through presentations and in-depth discussions on the keys to business success:

  • Performance improvement
  • Operations, including scheduling, quality control, and equipment maintenance
  • Leadership skills
  • Attaining and retaining a high-performing team
  • Marketing and communications
  • Sales, from training to tracking
  • Customer satisfaction

At day’s end, Marty will welcome you to his house for dinner and show you how he’s landscaped his home.

The Focus Is You
We purposely limit these field trips to just 14 attendees to keep the focus on you, your questions, and the challenges you face. You’ll also have the opportunity to expand your professional network with other landscapers from around the country.

$1,595 for the first person from your company
$1,000 for each additional person from your company
ACEs and Field Trip alumni attend at half price

The registration fee includes dinner the night before, lunch and dinner the day of, and a business book we’ve selected to enrich your experience. Hotel, travel, and other meals are not included.

Field Trip Details

Marty will pick you up at the hotel around 5:30 the night before to go to dinner. This allows everyone to meet and find out a little about each other.

The next day Marty will pick you up at the hotel at 6:45 a.m. to get to Grunder Landscaping early enough to see the crews roll out for the day. You’ll tour the facility and then Marty’s key team members will meet with you to share their approaches to the work they do. Marty will take you to lunch at a popular locally owned restaurant, followed by a quick visit to a couple job sites. In the afternoon you’ll have free time to walk around Grunder Landscaping headquarters and ask GLC staff about pretty much anything you want to know. The evening will end with dinner at Marty’s house.

Can I Pay in Installments?
Please contact the office and we will try to accommodate you. You will need to provide a credit card number that we can process automatically on agreed-upon dates and the entire balance will need to be paid before the event.

Refund Policy
There is no refund policy for the Fall Field Trips. If you are unable to attend, you will be issued a credit for the entire registration amount that you can use in the next 18 months. You may transfer your registration to a substitute participant at least five business days prior to the event. No credits, transfers, or refunds are available on a transferred registration.

After you register for the field trip, we will e-mail you the hotel information. We work with a local hotel to secure a reduced rate for our guests.

Air Travel
Dayton International Airport (DAY) is the closest to the hotel, around 30 minutes away.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is about an hour’s drive to and from the hotel.
Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) is about an hour and a half from the hotel.
Air fares vary greatly among these airports depending on the carrier.

Ground Transportation
There are cab and shuttle services from both the Dayton and Cincinnati airports. These services are fairly expensive and it may be simpler to rent a car. All major rental agencies operate from all airports.

If you’d like to share a ride from or to the airport, please provide us with your travel information. If other people contact us with the same requests, we will connect you with them to make arrangements, but we can’t guarantee we will find someone.

Dress Code
The dress code is business casual.

What You Should Bring
Don’t forget your camera, video camera, and a notepad.

Food Restrictions
If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know so that we can prepare for you ahead of time.

Call the office at 1.866.GRUNDER. If Marty is in, he will personally answer your questions.

“I have only been home one day but am processing all the information and procedures I learned and I am super excited to share them with our team members. I’m the right-hand man, not the owner, but I now feel obligated to implement your ideas at our company to elevate it to another level.”
Mark Levin
Superior Landscaping, Pontiac, IL

“I wanted to take a second to thank you for a wonderful field trip. You, your team, and your family far exceeded my expectations. Your passion and high standards for your business are very inspiring. I learned a ton and am very excited for the future of my business. Seeing Grunder Landscaping in action has really helped me realize what is possible and what it will take to transform The Flower Guys into my market’s premier landscape company.”
Greg Slatner, President
The Flower Guys, Fort Lauderdale, FL

“I want to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoyed touring your facility this past Friday. The opportunity to experience an in-depth look into the workings of another company was very helpful and I gained a wealth of knowledge that will be useful within my own company. I feel that the forms alone that I brought home were well worth the cost of the tour. Thanks again.”
Mark Borst, President
Borst Landscape & Design, Allendale, NJ

“The field trip was well worth the time, effort, and money!! To be honest with you I feel that attending your field trip advanced my team ahead 5 years, at least. Everything was covered, from production and marketing to maintenance on trucks and equipment. One of the biggest things that helped me was to see the owner of the company that clearly took action to achieve function and efficiency. You practice what you preach and that was exactly what I needed! Thanks for taking the guess work out of the equation for us!!”
Lauren Olenius, Founder and President
