Our Fall Field Trips bring you onsite to Grunder Landscaping Co. headquarters in Dayton, Ohio, one of the most successful landscaping companies in the Midwest. You’ll spend a jam-packed day going behind the scenes of the company’s operations, meeting Marty’s management team, and learning directly from them how to lead your staff to exceed client expectations every step of the way. This event is limited to just 14 attendees so we can guarantee you get the one-on-one attention you need.

Seeing Is Believing
On the first night, we’ll gather at a restaurant for a kickoff dinner so you can get to know your fellow participants and have some fun, too. In the morning we’ll head to Grunder Landscaping, where you’ll watch the crews roll out and tour the facility. Then, through presentations and in-depth discussions, Marty and his leadership team will dive into the keys to business success:
- Performance improvement
- Operations, including scheduling, quality control, and equipment maintenance
- Leadership skills
- Attaining and retaining a high-performing team
- Marketing and communications
- Sales, from training to tracking
- Client satisfaction
You’ll enjoy lunch at a popular local eatery, tour a selection of GLC’s job sites, and enjoy free time to walk around GLC headquarters and ask the staff about pretty much anything you want to know. The evening will end with dinner at Marty’s house.

We purposely limit these field trips to just 14 attendees to keep the focus on you, your questions, and the challenges you face. You’ll also have the opportunity to expand your professional network with other landscapers from around the country, and you’ll leave armed with innovative but practical tips and tactics to improve your business, along with a binder containing the forms, policies, and procedures GLC uses everyday to succeed.

The registration fee includes dinner the night before, lunch and dinner the day of, a business book we’ve selected to enrich your experience, and a forms binder. Hotel and travel are not included.

After you register for the field trip, we will e-mail you the hotel information. We work with a local hotel to secure a reduced rate for field trip attendees.
Dayton International Airport (DAY) is the closest to the hotel, around 30 minutes away.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is about an hour’s drive to and from the hotel.
Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) is about an hour and a half from the hotel.
Air fares vary greatly among these airports depending on the carrier.
There are cab and shuttle services from both the Dayton and Cincinnati airports. These services are fairly expensive and it may be simpler to rent a car. All major rental agencies operate from all airports.
If you’d like to share a ride from or to the airport, please provide us with your travel information. If other people contact us with the same requests, we will connect you with them to make arrangements, but we can’t guarantee we will find someone.
The dress code is business casual.
What You Should Bring
Don’t forget your camera, video camera, and a notepad.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can prepare for you ahead of time.
Paying in Installments
Please contact the office and we will try to accommodate you. You will need to provide a credit card number that we can process automatically on agreed-upon dates and the entire balance will need to be paid before the event.
There is no refund policy for the Fall Field Trips. If you are unable to attend, you will be issued a credit for the entire registration amount that you can use in the next 18 months. You may transfer your registration to a substitute participant at least five business days prior to the event. No credits, transfers, or refunds are available on a transferred registration.
